The Sydney Vivid Festival of Lights goes for three weeks at the end of May until the beginning of June. If you weren't around last year, check back here for our first VIvid experience. Seeing as we come from the small town of Brisbane, the big lights of Sydney were pretty exciting for us and it was great to go and see this year's light installations.

This year there has been a ridiculous amount of rain so Bailey and I had to schedule our annual visit to see the lights during my Bestie Weekend.

We had a lot of fun and at least Sarah Jane will pose for silly photos with me (unlike Mr B).

We also ate dinner at the markets, off paper plates, while perching on flower beds. Don't judge us, the food was INSANELY good. And, yes, the girl in the photo below IS making poffetjes (that we proceeded to eat). Jealous? You should be!

The only thing I was disappointed in was the Opera House. If you're going to brave the cold and the crowds, you want to see something spectacular and this year, the light show was…odd. Unless you think a white background on the Opera House with a projection of a girl rolling around on it isn't odd…

It was still pretty though and I highly recommend the Vivid Festival, should you find yourself in my neck of the woods around May/June in the future! Here are some more of our photos (from Bailey's HTC One…the camera is pretty damn good for a phone!)

Yes, that is a light projection on Sydney's Customs House. Clever? Indeed!

The surrounding hotels and major office buildings like to be part of the show too.

This made me think of Finding Nemo. And, yes, it's a bicycle.

You can't really go wrong with a pink building in my opinion.
