If you've been around these parts for a while, you will know that I also have a beauty blog called The Perfect Lipstick. I started it last year with my mum not long after meeting a group of wonderful beauty bloggers at an afternoon tea that I kind of crashed (as a non-beauty blogger). But we loved cake and lipstick equally so I ended up fitting right in!

On Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of venturing out with them (despite the rain) to trial the Intercontinental Sydney's High Coffee and as it's not much of a beauty topic, I thought I'd tell you all about it over here in Cake and Coffee dreamland (a.k.a Through My Looking Glass).

Whoa, what an afternoon! Aside from the excellent company and beautiful hotel setting, the concept of high coffee is all of my favourite things in one delicious package. Coffee. Check. Cake. Check. Martini. Check.

The staff at the Intercontinental were so wonderful, and the chefs came out between each course and explained everything to us – along with the how the different coffees were designed to compliment the various platters. Can you tell just how much I loved the entire thing?

Enough talking now, here are some photos from the day. Try not to drool on your keyboard! high coffee me high coffee stand cafe fredo crepes and waffles jam and cream sweets pie   coffee beauty bloggers

Thanks, ladies for a wonderful afternoon and for the most amount of cake and coffee I've managed to consume in one sitting!! For more info on Intercontinental High Coffee, check it out here.

I may well just hold you to that! My sister has just moved to Sydney for work, I better let her know about this – I think she’s still looking for a good coffee shop!

Haha, the last couple of days since I’ve been at my desk chugging my usual caffeine fix, it just isn’t the same.
That espresso martini would be a helluva way to kick off breakfast!

I know! If it’s not in a martini glass, I’m not interested ;)
