Naomi and I met when she was looking for guest bloggers for her site, Write About Me. I'm currently the film reviewer on her site along with a few other wonderful people. I thought I'd turn the tables on Naomi and get her to feature on my blog for a chance. Here's what she had to say:
What is your name/location?
Naomi Tsvirko and I am from Sydney.
What do you do (job, business, blog, etc)?
At the moment I’m a part-time high school teacher and freelance writer. I am currently working on my first novel (a YA novel).
What do you love about it?
I love that I am able to do all the things I am passionate about and be surrounded by amazing people. I love being an English teacher, it allows me to inspire others and teach great texts. On my days off from teaching I spend time writing from home, this means I also get to enjoy time with my little girl :)
If you could pick three things that you could do every day for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Spend time with my family, write and inspire others.
What’s your best tip for somebody who wants to do what you do?
To be a teacher: Be patient and understand that each student is different but they all value positivity and need someone to believe in them –be that person, even when they don’t deserve it.
To be a writer: The hardest part is starting so be sure to set goals and stick to them. Always be true to yourself and always make time to write.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Be honest, be kind, believe in yourself, work hard and you will achieve.
What is your favourite movie (or top three if you can’t pick one)?
Tough one, I change my mind all the time…Scent of a Woman, About a Boy and Reality Bites.
If someone offered to make you a cake for your birthday, what would you choose?
Vanilla Slice Cake…mmm…
What is one thing you can’t leave the house without?
My iPhone.
What’s one completely random thing about you?
I like autumn more than summer.
Okay, now you can plug whatever you want – your blog, your business, etc. And, go…
