Aside from a pretty cool name, The Grounds of Alexandria could just be my new favourite spot in Sydney.

I mentioned my visit briefly on Monday, but had to give you a full idea of the place, should you find yourself in the area. It seems wrong to know about this jewel in the heart of Sydney's industrial suburb and not share it with you (even though I secretly want to keep it to myself…)

I get the feeling The Grounds has become quite the hotspot for weekend cafe goers as it was crazy busy on my first visit, despite the on and off rain. If you choose the takeaway option, you can sit in the garden or you can wait for a table inside. I'm sure you can imagine which is the better choice.

All I had was coffee, but the atmosphere was utterly delightful and I really just can't wait to visit again soon. The service was…well you could tell they were busy but they were certainly still pleasant in the process.

The Grounds of Alexandria is Building 7A, No.2 Huntley St, Alexandria and is open 7am-4:30pm Mon-Fri and 7am-4pm weekends.

Have you been? I'd love you to let me know if this is your kind of place and if you like hearing about various coffee spots I visit around the place!

This place looks gorgeous! I love discovering new coffee places, I live in Melbourne and there is always somewhere new popping up which is great. I often visit Sydney too so would definitely like to hear more about the places you discover.

I thought you’d like this place!! You should try the strawberry tart. Delicious!! There’s also apparently a French cafe in Waterloo. I think we should go there!

I’ve been a number of times now. It is a great place for kids. Pretty good food too.
