Have you ever lived somewhere for a short amount of time (overseas, for example) and felt as though you never fully appreciated the experience? If you go somewhere to live and work, life quickly goes back to the routine of working and paying bills and what not. It doesn't matter if you're living in a far away country, it's just how it goes. I've lived in Sydney now for almost two years and while I've seen a lot of it,… Read more »

Even though I'm not the biggest lover of summer, there is certainly something special about it. Summer to me is sitting outside at night, afternoon drinks, walking around in the sun, the beach (obv), shorts and thongs, music festivals, partying, celebrations. I don't know if it's because of all the end of year stuff that I associate with summer but there is something exciting about it (and the fact that I conveniently forget about sweaty trains, sunburn, messy summer hair… Read more »

I spent Friday night at Oxford Art Factory in Darlinghurst seeing some great Aussie bands for a super cheap price. $20 tickets, $5 frozen cocktails, free street parking – what more can you ask for. Oh yeah, ridiculously good music, oh man. First up was Battleships who, thanks to my PS3-playing boyfriend, I automatically want to call Battlefields (sorry, guys!) I also didn't take any photos of them because at the time they were on stage, I was toting two… Read more »

You know how sometimes, you feel as though a change is coming and you're just waiting for it to hit? I kind of feel as though that is happening to me at the moment. I have no idea where all the things that are coming at me are going to lead, but there is definitely a change coming and it is definitely exciting. This weekend, I was feeling a bit blah. It happens sometimes and I just wished that I… Read more »

If you haven't heard of the Fox In Flats Style Dares yet, then you're completely missing out! I've done a few of them but I think this is the first time I've decided to write an entire post dedicated to one. This could be because it is so Spring-centered and everything just feels so Spring at the moment! Last week's style dare was…you guessed it…flowers! Here's how my week went: I don't know what it's been like where you are… Read more »

Last Thursday I ran home from work (mid TV wedding prep) and went along to the music and t-shirt launch of the lovely Morgan Joanel. I've known Morgan pretty much since I moved to Sydney and am often in awe of the creative abilities of this girl. She sings, writes music, plays multiple instruments, has mad skills with a looping pedal, draws, designs, and models on her blog MojoMade and her latest tracks are insanely good. The launch was held… Read more »

I told you this week was going to be 'weekend events' heavy but I promise this is the last and I'm sure you will appreciate a completely dessert related post, because, who wouldn't? And I'm not talking about just any kind of dessert; I'm talking about a dessert train from the brainchild of one of Sydney's most exciting patissiers. On Saturday night, Sarah and I went to Zumbo's Dessert Train at Star City Casino and we decided then and there… Read more »

The Sydney Vivid Festival of Lights goes for three weeks at the end of May until the beginning of June. If you weren't around last year, check back here for our first VIvid experience. Seeing as we come from the small town of Brisbane, the big lights of Sydney were pretty exciting for us and it was great to go and see this year's light installations. This year there has been a ridiculous amount of rain so Bailey and I… Read more »

I'm going to be honest (because that's what I do here), I haven't really been feeling myself lately. Do you ever get that? On Saturday, instead of moping around and giving into the motivation-killing lethargy that has been severely impacting my drive to get out of bed (let alone go for a run), I decided to try a different approach. I grabbed the boy, a beanie, and a bright cardigan and went for a long walk around where we live…. Read more »
