I'm obviously online a lot. I use Wikipedia pretty regularly as a source of quick information about whatever it is I might need to know a bit more about. I've seen interviewers make idiots of themselves for using the popular site featuring user-generated info as gospel and not fact checking first. Oops. All the same, do you find yourself looking up Wikipedia for all the weird and wonderful things you can possibly imagine? . If you do, you might have… Read more »

I mentioned my recent cafe hop around Brisbane and the sheer luck I had stumbling upon brand spanking new cafe, Two Trees in glorious West End, the heart of Brisbane's bohemia. The first day we saw it, the young guy yelled out to us that it was their grand opening the next day and we should come back then. So we did. We had a great coffee at Two Trees on their grand opening day. It's exactly what you would… Read more »

Hello there! Yes, I am still alive, this week I am 'TV Wedding Planning Hell' so by the time it's blogging time, I'm so burnt out I have nothing left to give.  Something that has been helping me get through the week are the 'Your E-Cards' that are floating around the internets (mostly on Pinterest). I wanted to share some of my favourites with you just in case you are also having a ridiculous week in hopes that I will… Read more »

Oh I have so much to say but before I start, I will try to collect my thoughts so it doesn't get all mixed up and just focus on one subject today. Source: Uploaded by user via Katherine on Pinterest I'm the first to admit that I probably spend too much time online. I guess, in the grand scheme of things, it's not too out of control – I still go outside regularly and think I have a pretty balanced… Read more »

Instagram is probably my favourite and most used iPhone app. It's like visual Twitter, in my opinion, allowing you to see the world of your friends and favourite celebrities through their eyes. Not to mention how good the filters can make a pretty average iPhone photo look. (Image from Pinstagram) I've been a big fan of Instagram since it was released and have amassed quite a gallery of images, mostly because of my Instagram Photo-a-Day project (which you can see… Read more »

Facebook updates come around about as often as new reality TV shows these days but, having said that, the new Pages update has possibly the most amount of customisation I've come across so far on Facebook, and that's really saying a lot! It is a well-known fact that I waste spend an inexplicable amount of time on Facebook and so, naturally, I decided a little while ago to create a page for Through My Looking Glass. For a while, I… Read more »

The final statue of the year in film has been awarded, once again Brad Pitt has gone home empty handed, and all the couture is being returned. The other day when I mentioned my love/hate relationship with the Academy Awards, but I don't think I properly conveyed the geeky delight I derive from watching the Oscars. Here are some of my favourite Oscar things: Laughing at the comedic brilliance of the oldest actor they can wheel out onto stage to… Read more »

When I spent some time at a primary school on a shoot last week, I realised how long ago the 90's really were – yep, it's been 20 years since I started school. Crazy town. With this shock fresh in my mind, my new 'memory lane' Pinterest board, and constant reminders of the boys teenagers lust over today (eg, the entire cast of Twilight), I thought I would share the boys from the 90's I once dreamed of marrying… Jonathan… Read more »

I have probably mentioned before that I have been an Mac girl for most of my life – possibly longer than I haven't been. My dad has been an unwavering supporter of Apple since the beginning and so, inevitably, I grew up using a Mac back when it was called a Macintosh, before the word iDevice was a twinkle in Steve's eye. The first computer I was allowed to have in my room was a Mac, as was the first… Read more »
